Construction Phasing
The project area has been divided into three sections to accommodate phased design and construction. The objective of the design and construction phasing is to develop sections that will provide each of the four Towns and the City of Poughkeepsie with access to a section of the Dutchess Rail Trail with parking as soon as construction is completed. The phased construction of the three sections is currently proposed as follows:
- Construction Stage 1 - (Section 2 on map):
- Bridge Street (Rt. 376) to Lake Walton Road, East Fishkill – COMPLETE AND OPEN FOR USE
- Construction Stage 2 - (Section 1 on map):
- Overocker Road to Morgan Lake, Poughkeepsie – Begin Fall, 2008. Open for users Summer 2009
- Construction Stage 3 - (Section 2 on map):
- Rt. 82 to Old Manchester Road, East Fishkill, Wappinger and LaGrange – Begin Fall, 2009. Open to users Summer 2010
- Construction Stage 4 - (Section 3 on map):
- Old Manchester Road to Overocker Road, Poughkeepsie – Begin Fall 2009. Open to users Fall 2010.
- Construction Stage 5 - (Section 1 on map):
- Replace Salt Point Turnpike Bridge - Begin Summer, 2011 (Or as Federal Funding Allows)
